Visually Impaired Ennis Man Hopeful New Voting System Will Make A Difference

A visually impaired Ennis man hopes changes to the voting system for people with sight issues will mean those without support can carry out their democratic right.

Voters with visual impairments will be able to use a new plastic device which is placed over the ballot paper and has raised lettering, large print and Braille to help them at the polling stations.

It’s to be brought in on time for the upcoming referendum on the Eighth Amendment.
