Vicky Phelan, the woman whose court case exposed the Cervical-Check scandal, will receive an honorary doctorate at the University of Limerick later today.
Last April, the High Court awarded Ms Phelan two point five million euro in damages after a US laboratory botched her smear test results and she developed terminal cancer.
A full commission of investigation into the controversy is to be established in September.
