Trolley Numbers At UHL On The Rise Once Again

The UL Hospitals Group says additional nursing staff have been hired to specifically care for patients waiting in the ED for a bed to become available.

It comes as the level of overcrowding at University Hospital Limerick has once again begun to rise.

Meanwhile, the Health Minister has been criticised for failing to answer questions on the situation there.

Nurses say the level of overcrowding at the region’s main hospital is on the rise once again.

Figures from the INMO show that 68 patients were without a bed at University Hospital Limerick earlier, 40 of those on trolleys in the emergency department.

It’s over 30 more than the next busiest facility and marks a jump of four from yesterday’s trolley numbers.
