The level of overcrowding at the region’s main hospital is on the rise once again.

The latest figures from the IMNO show 49 people were left waiting for beds at University Hospital Limerick this morning, 25 of those in the emergency department.

It’s the highest overall figure of any hospital in the country and comes on a day when 358 people are waiting on trolleys at hospitals across the country.
