Transport Minister Wants Ireland To Bid For Olympic Games

The Transport Minister has been criticised for suggesting Ireland could host the Olympic Games.

Shane Ross says there’s no reason to limit Ireland’s ambitions, if it’s able to win hosting rights for the 2023 Rugby World Cup.

But TDs from across the opposition benches say hosting the Olympics would be far too expensive for a country of our size.

Labour’s Joan Burton says we should focus instead on hosting the Rugby World Cup – and doing a good job of it.
