Holy Island Development Must Be Careful And Not Hasty – Burke

It’s claimed it’s of the utmost importance that the redevelopment of Holy Island in East Clare is done carefully and not hastily.

Work is ongoing behind the scenes at the moment on turning the historic monastic site into a tourist attraction, to lure some of those coming to Clare to the eastern side of the county.

It’s been four years now since the island was brought into public ownership and the Killaloe Municipal District Councillors have now been assured that while visible work isn’t happening yet, much of the necessary background work is completed.
