Ennistymon’s Falls Hotel Working Towards Being Fossil Fuel Free

The General Manager of the Falls Hotel and Spa says they are working towards becoming a completely fossil fuel free business.

The Ennistymon hotel has already become the first in Ireland to generate power from its own hydroelectricity plant; a project that took two years to complete.

This has resulted in the hotel producing 75% of the power it requires, while also significantly reducing the carbon footprint.

General Manager Michael McCarthy says the long-term goal is to be fully self sufficient and carbon neutral in terms of their power.
