Shannon Siptu staff accept Aer Lingus plan but doubt after Impact rejection

Siptu Aer Lingus workers at Shannon Cork and Dublin  have voted to accept the company’s major cost cutting plan.

The result of the ballot of almost 12 hundred ground handling support staff and cabin crew accepted the deal by 58 percent in favour of the proposals which will mean over 600 redundancies.

However there are fears that Aer Lingus will axe over a thousand jobs though after Impact staff rejected the deal which included proposals to axe over a hundred Shannon based cabin crew but the company wont comment until all the results are known with the craft workers ballot due to day.
