Rural Social Scheme To Be Extended In Clare

An additional 26 Clare farmers and fishermen are to benefit from a government scheme which aims to support their incomes this year.

As part of the Budget, an additional 500 places were announced on the Rural Social Scheme.

It has now been revealed that 26 of those are coming to Clare, bringing the total number here who will benefit under the scheme to 143.

To qualify for the scheme, people must be receiving a social welfare payment and in return, they are to provide services that benefit rural communities.
