Renewed Calls For Free GP Cards For Full-Time Carers

There are renewed calls for free GP cards for all 100-thousand full-time carers in this country.

The Health Minister announced yesterday the cards will be extended to certain social welfare recipients.

But Family Carers Ireland, which was founded in Ennis, says the latest changes will only help 14-thousand extra people.

Instead it wants anyone who gets non-means tested payment to be covered for GP visits.
