Relief In Springfield Following Announcement Of Spend On Flood Protection Measures

A Clonlara resident says there’s a sense of relief in the local community following the announcement of funding for flood protection measures.

Springfield is one of five areas in Clare to benefit from the first phase of the Government’s one billion euro fund, which will be spent on the design and construction of flood relief schemes in areas like Kilkee, Bunratty, Kilrush and Killaloe.

They represent half of the areas in the county previously highlighted in a CFRAMS study as being at risk of flooding.
