Re-Think On Traditional Role Of Work Needed In Clare’s Coastal Communities

The President of Kilkee Chamber claims a re-think on the traditional role of work is needed in places like West and North Clare.

The latest CSO figures show an 18% drop in the number of people signing on in Clare in the past year, with just over 4,800 people on the live register in November.

But unemploment figures went up in West and North Clare by 48 and 100 respectively, something Cillian Murphy says is to be expected on account of an over-reliance on the tourism sector for employment opportunities.
