Wildlife fans are being invited to Clare’s coast this afternoon for a spot of whale-watching.
As part of a national ‘Whale-Watch Ireland’ campaign, free events are being held throughout the country today at which guides will show people how to observe and identify some of the most commonly recorded species in Irish waters.
The events are land-based, with no boat trips involved, but they are free and last year, whales or dolphins were seen at 65% of sites.
Today, in Clare, events are being held at Loop Head and at Black head where guide Sandra O’Donovan has this advice.
Both events run from 2pm until 5pm today.
