Bilateral talks between the Taoiseach and the US President haven taken place at Shannon airport this evening .
Donald Trump and his wife Melania began their three day visit to Clare, touching down just before 5pm.
The visit has been met by protesters opposed to his policies on climate change amongst other issues.

Following the meeting at Shannon airport, President Trump travelled to the Trump Doonbeg resort onboard Marine 1.
Traffic restrictions are in place in Doonbeg, where the Trumps will spend the majority of their time in Ireland.
