Election In Coming Months Not A Good Idea – Harty

Clare’s Independent TD claims that calling an election in the wake of a no deal Brexit would be irresponsible.

Michael Harty is reacting to comments from Taoiseach Leo Varadkar, who yesterday said that May next year would be the right time to hold an election.

The Fianna Fáil leader, Micheal Martin has indicated that a spring date would be his preference.

Deputy Harty believes that with Brexit dominating the political environment locally, having an election in the coming months wouldn’t be the right thing to do.
