Clare’s Sinn Fein TD is describing the decision to offer more pay to members of the judiciary and opposition party whips as ‘incredulous’.
The cabinet has approved a 2 per cent pay increase, with the government claiming they received ‘strong legal advice’ that they had to do so.
It comes after a proposal to pay student nurses for their work during the pandemic was rejected, proving a mixed reaction across this county.
