Oireachtas Commitee Hears Of ‘Difficult Relationship’ Between OCI And Sport Ireland

The Oireachtas Sport Committee has heard details of the difficult relationship between the old OCI board and Sport Ireland.

Representatives from both organisations have been answering questions on the Moran report into the Rio ticketing scandal.

OCI President Sarah Keane says huge strides have been made in changing the culture of the organisation, and a reform agenda is underway in terms of corporate governance.

Head of Sport Ireland John Treacy says former President Pat Hickey was highly critical of the then Sports Council in 2009, and the government didn’t step in.
