No Timeline Given For Modular Unit At University Hospital Limerick

The government has once again failed to give a solid indication of when work on a planned modular unit to alleviate overcrowding at University Hospital Limerick will begin.

The project has been a sore point in the Midwest in recent weeks, with many local representatives raising concern about the future of the €19.5 million 60-bed unit due to the rising costs of the National Children’s Hospital.

Just this week, Junior Minister Pat Breen confirmed to Clare FM that the Health Minister has assured him that project will be prioritised in the Government’s revised capital plan, which is expected to be announced in the coming week.
