New Mayor Of Ennis To Prioritise Mental Health

The Mayor of Ennis says raising awareness of mental health issues will be one of his top priorities during his term.

Clarecastle Councillor Paul Murphy has has taken over from Independent Councillor Ann Norton, who will remain on as his deputy, following his election last evening.

It comes ahead of the election of the new Cathaoirleach of Clare County Council at the council AGM today – Kilmaley Fianna Fáil Councillor Tom McNamara is expected to receive the honour, with Fine Gael’s Pat Burke from Whitegate as the new Leas-Cathaoirleach.
