The new Leas Cathaoirleach of Clare County Council is hoping to push thte development of some major projects in Clare over the next year.
Kilmurry Fianna Fáil Councillor Alan O’Callaghan began a twelve month term as Leas-Cathaoirleach yesterday, as Clonlara Independent Michael Begley assumed the honour of being Clare’s first citizen.

Councillor O’Callaghan is entering the final year of his first term of office and said he was proud to be elected into the role of Deputy Chair.
Also yesterday, Whitegate Fine Gael Councillor Pat Burke was elected as Cathaoirleach of the Killaloe Municipal District for the next twelve months.
