Midwest Urges People To Vaccinate Against Mumps Amid Disease Outbreak

HSE Midwest is urging those who haven’t received their MMR vaccine to contact their doctor as a matter of urgency.

It comes as the number of confirmed mumps cases across Ireland so far this year has already eclipsed the total number for 2018.

In the first 11 weeks of the year, 593 cases of the highly contagious viral disease have been diagnosed with 47 of those in the Midwest alone.
