Midwest Simon Predicts Surge In Homelessness In Coming Months

Midwest Simon is predicting a surge in homelessness in the region in the coming months, as a result of the lifting of the moratorium on evictions.

It comes as the latest figures from the Department of Housing show the number of homeless adults in Clare increased by 4 between May and June, to 62.

Its quarterly report also shows that 138 people, or 49% of all homeless people across the Midwest, were living in emergency accommodation in hotels, hostels or B&Bs for more than 6 months.
