Second Ennis Local Election 2019 Debate

The second debate in the 2019 local Election campaign has seen five more Ennis area candidates setting out their stall on some of the issues affecting the county capital and surrounding areas.

Five more Ennis area candidates have gone head to head today as part of efforts to secure one of 28 seats up for grabs in the local election.

First-time Independent candidate Alfonzo D’Auria claims Ennis is slowly dying and in dire need of a third level institution to attract young blood into the town.

He’s described current third level offerings here as mere breadcrumbs – he believes third level institutions can be convinced to deliver more services here.

Sitting Councillor, Fianna Fáil’s Pat Daly says the most significant investment announced by the local authority in the last two decades is the proposed Data Centre at Toureen.

He says it’s evidence that steps have been made to develop the town and that current efforts are working.
