The PRO of Kilrush Chamber fears there is no quick fix to the high commercial vacancy rate in the town but insists steps must be taken.
It’s after a survey carried out by GeoDirectory found that Kilrush has the second-highest rate nationally, at 26.2% – while Shannon is also in the top five, on 25%.
Overall, the vacancy rate in Clare rose by 0.2% in the second quarter of this year to 14.9% overall, at a time when some 14 counties experienced a reduction in theirs.
