Plans Lodged To Stop Discharge Of Raw Sewage In Liscannor Bay

Plans have been lodged for a new wastewater treatment in Liscannor, to prevent the discharge of thousands of litres of raw sewage into the environment daily.

Irish Water is seeking permission to construct a facility there to address water quality issues in the area.

At present, the equivalent of 1,500 wheelie bins of untreated sewage per day is being discharged into Liscannor Bay, and it’s hoped construction will begin by late 2020 on this project.
