Government “Hasn’t Invested Enough” In Coastal Protection – Conway

Clare’s government Senator has said that he doesn’t think that enough money has been invested in protecting coastal areas from storms.

Clare County Council and the OPW have invested millions at different locations along the county’s coastline in recent years, particularly in light of storms in early 2014 which wraught an estimated €35 million worth of damage.

The recent high-profile investment of €10 million in Lahinch Promenade passed its first test when Storm Lorenzo passed by without incident.
