11% Increase In Rental Costs In Clare

It now costs over €1,000 more a year to rent a home in Clare than it did 12 months ago.

The latest report from Daft.ie puts the average monthly rent in this county at almost €860, which is an increase of around €100 per month.

According to Daft.ie’s quarterly report, the rate of increase in rents in Ireland has now reached a six-year low.

Nationally, the average cost of renting a home rose by 6.7% to almost €1,400 a month, that increase being almost half of that of the year before.

But renters in Clare are now paying an average of €858 per month for their homes, a increase of 11.3% since June of 2019 or just shy of €100 more every month.

This means it now costs over €1,000 extra every year to rent a home here compared to in 2018.

When broken down, the figures reveal a 3-bed house will cost €798 a month on average, 4-beds will set you back €879 while a one-bed apartment in Clare can fetch €605 a month.

In terms of cities, Limerick has seen the biggest increase of 10.5%, versus just 4.5% in Dublin, which may be driving up rents in surrounding counties like Clare.
