Fresh Spike In Overcrowding At UHL

Hospital trolleys

There’s been a fresh spike in overcrowding figures at the region’s main hospital, following the long weekend.

Latest figures from the Irish Nurses and Midwives Organisation show that 62 patients were awaiting a bed at University Hospital Limerick earlier, 37 of those on trolleys in the emergency department.

It’s almost double the figure from Friday and means the Dooradoyle facility is once again the most overcrowded in the country.
