The region’s main hospital remains by far the busiest in the country once again, as the week begins.

The latest INMO figures show 62 patients were left waiting for beds at University Hospital Limerick this morning, 39 of those in the emergency department alone.

The overall figure is 22 more than the next busiest facility and comes on a day when 347 patients have been left waiting on trolleys at hospitals across the country.
