The region’s main hospital remains the busiest in the country, as the week begins.

The latest INMO figures show 57 patients were left waiting for beds at University Hospital Limerick this morning, 29 of those in the emergency department alone.

The overall figure is 15 more than the next busiest facility, Cork University Hospital and comes on a day when 492 patients have been left waiting on trolleys across the country.
