Clare’s Independent TD is welcoming a move to fast-track planning applications for large-scale data centres.
The government has committed to enacting the legislation in the New Year, which will see these centres by-pass the local planning system and go straight to An Bórd Pleanála.
It follows Clare County Council’s recent call-out for landowners, companies and developers in identifying sites of 50 acres or more for data centres by 2023.
