Garvey Says New Electricity Scheme Will Allow People Produce Their Own Energy

Clare’s Green Party Senator says a new scheme for people to sell excess renewable electricity to the national grid will allow us to produce our own energy.

The Microgeneration Support Scheme is currently up for consultation with government aiming to introduce it by July.

Similar schemes in other countries suggest small solar panels on average households may produce around €75 worth of excess electricity each year.
