Fresh Hope That New Roche Investor Can Be Found

The government has revived hopes that an investor could be found for the Roche plant in Clarecastle.

The plant is due to close fully by 2019, with the loss of 240 jobs as well as additional contract staff.

In one of her final acts as Tanaiste and Jobs Minister, Frances Fitzgerald told the Dáil that the IDA is continuing to engage with Roche’s parent company, with the most recent meeting coming in Switzerland in September.

She also said the Agency has been promoting the site to clients and investors, and that she was hopeful a new investor will be identified.
