Clare’s four IDA-sponsored site visits is lower than the figure recorded in seven other counties between January and March.

Waterford, Sligo, Louth, Limerick, Galway and Cork all had more, as well as Dublin, which had 69 visits in the same timeframe.

The number of visits here has also dropped from 10 in the same time last year, although 2017 did see a record number of IDA visitors to the county.

Site visits are seen as a key step in attracting a foreign company to invest in a given location.

No details are given on where in Clare has been visited.

The IDA supports companies in Clare to employ a total 6,775 workers, according to the most recent available figures.
