A former CEO of Clare County Council has been announced as the Chairperson designate of the Health and Safety Authority.
Tom Coughlan, who retired from his role with the Council last last year, has been announced by Minister of State Pat Breen as the chosen candidate to lead the board of the Authority which aims to minimise work-related injury and ill-health.
His appointment will require confirmation following an appearance before the Joint Oireachtas Committee on Jobs, Enterprise and Innovation next month.
