Former Clare Priest ordained to Catholic Church Government

 

A former Clare priest and Scarrif native has been ordained to the episcopacy  which the the general body of bishops that govern the Catholic Church, at a ceremony in St Peter’s Basilica in Rome.

Archbishop Eugene Nugent, from Gurtaderra,  was last month appointed by Pope Benedict as Apostolic Nuncio to Madagascar and Apostolic Delegate to the Comoros Islands.
