Former All Black in court on sexual assault charges

Ex-All Black star Mils Muliaina has appeared in a Welsh court charged with sexual assault.

The 35 year old World Cup-winning rugby player appeared in front of Cardiff magistrates this morning charged with one count of sexual assault against a woman in Cardiff city on the 7th of March.

The Samoan-born married father-of-one, who lives in Galway, now plays for Italian side Zebre.

The New Zealand Rugby Players Association has previously said that he "strenuously denies any wrongdoing" and intended to "plead not guilty".

He was released on unconditional bail to return to the same court on the 7th of September.
