Excess Water Charging System Branded Unfair On Some Households

Plans which put households with water metres at a greater risk of being charged for excessive use of water has been branded as extremely unfair by a Limerick TD.

Irish Water has confirmed that plans are in place to introduce excess water charges from next January.

While it’s also been confirmed that the suspension of water charges will remain in place until December 31st of this year, bills for excess use of water are expected to issue from the following July.
