ESB Warns Against Swimming In Ardnacrusha Reservoir

As the warm spell continues, the ESB is urging people not to swim in the Ardnacrusha Reservoir.

Today is set to be the hottest of the year so far, and while the latest weather report from Shannon shows the mercury has hit 20 degrees this lunchtime, temperatures are expected to climb to as high as 27 degrees in some parts today.

The ESB is warning of the dangers and potentially serious consequences of swimming in it’s reservoir at Ardnacrusha, due to the risk of deep waters, changing water levels and fast-flowing waters.
