Man Arrested Following Significant Drugs Find In Ennis

A man has been arrested in connection with a significant drugs find in Ennis.

During a planned operation targeting the sale and supply of controlled drugs, members of the Clare Drugs Divisional Unit have seized cocaine with an estimated street value of in excess of 60,000 euro and cannabis worth more than 20,000 euro.

The drugs were discovered in an open area near Clonroadmore, on the Limerick Road, shortly after midday this afternoon.

A Garda investigation has been launched and follow up searches have resulted in the arrest of a man in his thirties in the Ennis area.

He’s being detained at Ennis Garda Station under Section 2 of the of the Criminal Justice (Drug Trafficking) Act.

He can be held for up to seven days.
