Call For Annual Payment To Help Parents Cope With Back To School Costs

Calls are being made for a new annual payment to help parents in Clare cope with rising back to school costs.

The Sinn Féin-proposed bonus of €140 would come as a double payment of child benefit for each child in July, ahead of the new school term.

It’s hoped this would help to alleviate the financial strain associated with the funding of school uniforms and books in August.
