Dramatic Reduction In Overcrowding At UHL

There’s been a dramatic reduction in the level of overcrowding at the region’s main hospital today.

The latest figures from the INMO show 22 people were left waiting for beds at University Hospital Limerick, 9 of those in the emergency department.

That’s down from its peak of 61 earlier this week.

But despite the significant dip in numbers, the Dooradoyle facility is still the busiest in the country today, with double the number of people on trolleys than the next busiest hospital.
