Disappointment has been expressed after a debate on proposed changes to speed limits in this county has been further delayed.

A two-year review of a number of roads including the vast majority of the N67, much of the N68 and part of the N85 has taken place, and draft proposals are now in place to reduce or increase the limit in those areas.

The issue was due to be debated by local representatives at their monthly meeting last evening, but a decision has been deferred amid concerns over the implementation of the recommendations.

The speed limit on a section of the N67 south of Quilty is to be be reduced to 80 kilometres per hour, but Christine Sharp of the local Action Group claims that this is not enough.
