Clare is set to roll out the red carpet for royal visitors next week.
King Carl XVI Gustaf of Sweden and his wife Queen Silvia are taking in a trip to the Burren as part of their state visit to Ireland.
The royal couple will spend the majority of their visit in Dublin, where they will be entertained by President Michael D Higgins and his wife Sabina at Áras an Úachtaráin.
They’ll arrive in the Banner County next Friday afternoon to tour the Burren Smokehouse restaurant in Lisdoonvarna, run by Peter Curtin and his Swedish wife Birgitta, before departing Shannon Airport as they return to Stockholm.
It’s the second visit to Ireland by Sweden’s longest-reigning monarch, who last came here in 1992.
