Clare County Council has given the green light for a new LIDL store in South East Clare.
The development on lands to the north of Westbury centre will include a discount foodstore, incorporating an off-licence area, a coffee shop, car and cycle parking.
The decision is subject to a number of conditions, including a development contribution of 58,000 euro from the German Supermarket giant.

Mayor of Clare, Councillor Cathal Crowe previously raised concerns that the necessary infrastructure isn’t in place in the area to facilitiate the new supermarket, but he says this contribution will help address that.
