There are calls for West Clare to be included in a Just Transition Fund, announced to help offset job losses caused by climate change.
The measure was announced yesterday, but is targeted at the midlands where peat production has been curtailed.
There was no mention of Moneypoint in the announcement, in spite over 100 staff there being hit with redundancy as activity at the coal-burning plant is scaled back.
