A long-running airfare refund dispute surrounding pupils of an East Clare school has reached a successful conclusion.

Around 90 students from St Joseph’s Secondary School in Tulla were left out of pocket by an estimated 18,000 euro combined, after their trip to Barcelona was cancelled in April last year, due to the coronavirus pandemic.

Last month, Ryanair CEO Eddie Wilson reassured that refunds would be issued to the students and Clare’s Fianna Fáil TD, Cathal Crowe has confirmed that they have been reimbursed this week.
