There was a 6% drop in the number of fines for learner or novice driver offences in Clare last year.
In 2019, 134 people in the county settled Garda penalties after breaking the law, like driving without a qualified driver, with fines amounting to 10,980 euro.
That compares to 144 fines in 2018, according to freedom of information files.
