Crowds Expected To Descend On Shannon For Clare Hero’s Homecoming

Crowds are expected to descend on Shannon Airport this morning for the homecoming of Jim Warny.

The Belgian man, who’s been living in Ennis for fifteen years, has been labelled a “hero” after flying to Thailand to take part in the rescue of twelve youngsters and their coach from a flooded cave.

A member of the Irish Cave Rescue Organisation, Jim has previously completed the longest traverse of water-filled underground caves in Ireland and Britain in 2010, and has also been a diving instructor in Kilkee.
