No Indication Yet Of When Garda Commissioner Will Visit Clare

A senior Clare Garda has admitted that there is no indication yet of when the Garda Commissioner will visit this county.

Commissioner Drew Harris confirmed in an Oireachtas Justice Committee meeting in recent weeks that he would attend a meeting of the county’s Joint Policing Committee.

It comes as fears persist locally about a potential downgrading of policing in Clare, should the Clare and Galway Divisions amalgamate.
